Why go to a professional when I can talk to my friends, family and significant others etc?
A professional setting helps when there are severe issues that an individual is going through. Professionals are trained to take you through your worst issues proactively. Their motives will then be clear and unbiased and purely with the intent to help you.
Why does confidentiality matter in Counselling and Therapy?
A preclause of confidentiality helps the rapport between the therapist and the client to be established quicker causing the trust factor between them to be high. Ethically and morally the therapist has a duty towards the client’s well being which means that anything that can hamper the progress of the client in therapy will be negated.

These tests are of several different kinds ranging from intelligence tests to personality tests, as well as interest inventories etc. Tests to detect different clinical disorders as well as developmental disorders are also used.
What age group of people can benefit from counselling and therapy?
People of all ages and across all cultural and social backgrounds can potentially benefit from counselling and therapy. We see children as young as a couple of months so as to help their parents find out if there is any issue with their baby. We also do geriatric counselling and therapy for any issues.
How many sessions of counselling and therapy will I need?
Termination of therapy is usually discussed when both the therapist and client feel it’s time to move on. It also depends on what kind of therapy module is practised by the therapist. Some forms of therapy have a clear cut understanding of just how many sessions the client needs. Others are not clearly defined and thus put the onus of that decision of termination on the therapist and the client. Then there is also the severity of the issue that the client faces that needs to be considered. So the number of sessions can vary significantly.
